Scalp Micropigmentation Fail.

Here at the North West Scalp Clinic, we offer our expertise for professional scalp micropigmentation in Manchester (SMP), which is a type of hair tattoo used to treat those who may be suffering from hair loss or hair thinning. Whether you want to cover a bald patch, restore a receding hairline, or cover up hair transplant scars. Based in Wigan, we help clients across Manchester, Bolton and Liverpool. Today we are going to focus on what to do if you have had a previous bad scalp micropigmentation treatment.

The Ways SMP Can Go Wrong

Although at North West Scalp Clinic we provide a professional service, if you have chosen to get a cheaper SMP treatment with less experienced practitioners, there are several ways that the treatment can go wrong. The ink may fade excessively or become discoloured, giving it a blue tinge. Deposits may be too large, or merge together if not properly spaced out, or may migrate under the skin, causing a ‘fried egg’ look. They may also give unnatural hairlines that appear as if they had been drawn on.

How SMP Fails Can be Fixed

In some cases, laser removal will be required in order to fix a scalp micropigmentation fail. There are also developments with alternative technologies that can remove the pigments including those using saline that is used within the PMU (Permanent Makeup industry), and those without, especially developed for SMP removal. Once the defective pigments have been removed, we will then be able to carry out our SMP treatment in order to provide the appearance of a natural hairline with ink that is not only the correct pigment, but penetrated in the right place in the skin, and properly spaced out to either replicate the appearance of a shaved-head look or to increase the appearance of hair density.

What to do After A Hair Transplant Procedure

Those looking for a hair loss treatment may turn to hair transplants. Whilst this can have varying success, you will likely be left with visible scarring. In order to solve this issue, SMP is the perfect solution as it can be used to improve the appearance of hair destiny, and cover up scarring. Whether an SMP fail or excessive hair transplant scars, we have the right skills and experience to help to fix the problem.

Avoid Scalp Micropigmentation Fail

One of the leading reasons for SMP regret is going to an incompetent technician. Wherever you go, make sure the person carrying out your treatment is fully qualified, as there are some practitioners who claim they can offer this hair loss solution, but have only learnt from videos with no practical experience. Tattooists and Permanent Make-up Artists would also need additional qualifications in order to provide SMP as the methods and techniques that are used are completely different. Ask the clinic for their credentials, and ask for past results of the recommended pigment in order to make sure that you are in safe hands. Know that we will do this if you come to the North West Scalp Clinic.
